The Crossborder Jurists Association was established with the aim of contributing to the rule of law and strengthening human rights. In this context, we monitor human rights violations in Turkey and around the world and publish reports. Through our social media accounts, we strive to raise awareness of human rights by sharing examples of good practices and addressing rights violations.
One of the special areas of interest for our association is undoubtedly children’s rights. November 20, 2024 is the United Nations World Children’s Day. On Saturday, November 23, 2024, our association will organize a symposium to commemorate World Children’s Day. During the symposium, children’s rights activists from different countries will give presentations. Activists will be able to participate in person at the conference hall or deliver their presentations via online participation.
Presentations made during the symposium will be broadcast live through the association’s social media channels (YouTube, X, Instagram). After the symposium, the participants’ papers will be compiled into a book and published on the association’s website. The compiled book will also be distributed to international institutions and organizations related to children’s rights. In this way, awareness of the Best Interests of the Child Principle will be raised across a wide audience, and it will provide an opportunity to observe examples of practices from different countries.
The costs of the symposium will be covered by the CBJ.
A children’s rights exhibition will also be organised in the building where the symposium will be held. This exhition will feature artwork and drawings, including pieces by the renowned activist illustrator Gianluca Constantini.
The language of the symposium will be English.
Das Symposium zu Kinderrechten
Der Verein Crossborder Jurists wurde gegründet, um zur Rechtsstaatlichkeit beizutragen und die Menschenrechte zu stärken. In diesem Rahmen überwachen wir Menschenrechtsverletzungen in der Türkei und weltweit und veröffentlichen Berichte. Über unsere Social-Media-Kanäle bemühen wir uns, das Bewusstsein für gute Praxisbeispiele und Menschenrechtsverletzungen zu schärfen.
Eines der besonderen Interessengebiete unseres Vereins sind zweifellos die Rechte der Kinder. Der 20. November 2024 ist der Weltkindertag der Vereinten Nationen. Am Samstag, den 23. November 2024, wird unser Verein ein Symposium organisieren, um den Weltkindertag zu begehen. Im Rahmen des Symposiums werden Kinderrechtsaktivisten aus verschiedenen Ländern Präsentationen halten. Die Aktivisten können entweder persönlich im Tagungssaal anwesend sein oder ihre Präsentationen online abhalten.
Die Präsentationen im Symposium werden live über die Social-Media-Kanäle unseres Vereins (YouTube, X, Instagram) übertragen. Die Beiträge der Teilnehmer werden nach dem Symposium in einem Buch zusammengefasst und auf der Website des Vereins veröffentlicht werden. Das erstellte Buch wird internationalen Institutionen und Organisationen im Bereich Kinderrechte zur Verfügung gestellt. Auf diese Weise wird ein breites Bewusstsein für das Prinzip des Kindeswohls geschaffen und es wird die Möglichkeit gegeben, Beispiele für dessen Umsetzung in verschiedenen Ländern zu beobachten.
Die Kosten des Symposiums werden aus den Eigenmitteln des CBJ getragen.
In dem Gebäude, in dem das Symposium stattfindet, wird auch eine Ausstellung über die Rechte des Kindes organisiert. Die Ausstellung zeigt Kunstwerke und Zeichnungen, darunter auch Arbeiten des bekannten aktivistischen Illustrators Gianluca Constantini.
Die Sprache des Symposiums wird Englisch sein.
